This is to officially certify that RWV Piyathissa of the Sri Lanka Army has successfully established a New Serendib World Record for the Fastest 50 Miles (80.467 Kilometres) Walk by a Blind Person (Male).
Despite complete visual impairment, the record holder demonstrated extraordinary physical endurance, mental resilience, and unwavering determination by completing a continuous walking distance of 50 miles (80.467 km) from Hikkaduwa Town to the Heroes Memorial in Battaramulla, Colombo, within a remarkable time of 14 hours, 37 minutes, and 31 seconds.
This outstanding achievement transcends physical limitations and stands as a powerful testament to human courage, discipline, and the indomitable spirit of perseverance.

This world record was established in commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, while paying profound tribute to all disabled war heroes and fallen soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Thirty Years’ War in Sri Lanka.
