Official Record Description
This is to officially certify that RWV Piyathissa of the Sri Lanka Army has established a New Serendib World Record for the Fastest 6-Hour Walk by a Blind Person (Male) by covering a remarkable distance of 35.110 kilometres within a continuous six-hour period on 10th October 2025.
Despite complete visual impairment, the record holder demonstrated extraordinary endurance, mental resilience, courage, and determination, redefining the limits of human potential and inspiring persons with disabilities worldwide.

Commemorative Significance
This world record was established in commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, while paying solemn tribute to all disabled war heroes and fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Thirty Years’ War in Sri Lanka.

Verification & Recognition
The record attempt was officially monitored, measured, verified, and authenticated in accordance with the established standards of Serendib World Records, and has been formally entered into the Serendib World Records Register under Endurance & Human Achievement.
